Thoughts

In a time of uncertainty we have one truth that we can rely on and that is the word of God. His promises stand true today just as they did from creation it is only we that have changed.

Paul says in 2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

Yet we continually try to accomplish things on our own forsaking His council.

2Co 4:8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

In times of trouble instead of seeking Him we seek the council of the world.

2Co 4:9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

2Co 4:10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

2Co 4:11 For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

We are more concerned for the things of the world rather than the things of God, seeking to establish our treasure here instead of in heaven and when things go wrong for us we point our fingers at Him and ask where were You? The truth is He has never moved. It is us that moved. We moved away from His word to live our lives as we saw fit. We allowed sin to reign within us instead of giving Him power over our lives. It is we who are at fault for the condition of this great country and it is we who will suffer the judgments to come because of it. The only thing we can hope for is that He would return and yet do we really deserve to be delivered from this mess? We have been a poor example of Him and it will cost us and for many the cost will be more than they can bear for it will involve loved ones, children, and spouses. I cannot even bear to think of the things it has cost me. As i sit here now writing this I know that many who may one day read this will wonder what happened. Then again this may never be read. Only God knows why it is on my heart and for what purpose it will serve. As the time for His return draws near I pray that He finds me faithful and serving Him in the capacity that He has designed for me. I pray that it is at a time when many who are not His will be unable to deny the events that will take place and at that moment that He would have many who will finally surrender and will go on to be the force that will lead many to Him. My fear is not what is to become of me but what is to become of those who will be left to suffer through the trials that will come.

My prayer is that all would come to Him but I know that many will continually deny Him and will be cast into outer darkness and separated from Him for eternity.

2Co 4:14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.

2Co 4:15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.

2Co 4:16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

2Co 4:17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

2Co 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

What we have to look forward to is much better than what we see here and I hope that others will come to know these truths that will be self evident. The very truths that our forefathers saw and relied upon while writing the Declaration Of Independence for this country and yet they are the same truths that are available to all mankind because they were endowed by their Creator, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.
